Hear ye, hear ye!

Zoey and I will be heading to Waukesha, WI to show at the Wisconsin Airedale specialty on July 29th.  Will be fun to be back at that show and see friends.

Beckham and Ziva's puppies arrived on July 10, 2023!  Some females are available around Labor Day.  Please email RocHavenAiredales@gmail.com to inquire further about these puppies.

Zoey made it to her first conformation show this past weekend in Libertyville, Illinois at the GLATA show.  While there were no other females present, she had fun showing with the boys and came away with Best in Sweepstakes, Best of Winners, Best of Opposite Sex, Best Owner Handler, and Best of Bred by, with a Best of Bred by Group 1 award to boot!  It was a great show and she handled the atmosphere extremely well and truly enjoyed meeting all the people and other dogs.  Our next show is in Waukesha, Wisconsin at the end of July.

Gemma was awarded Select at the Grayslake specialty show in June, handled by Stephanie Szczurek, for a 5 point major towards her Grand Championship.  She now has 10 points and two majors for the GCH.

Gemma is a new champion, pending AKC approval!!

Coming into the Renaissance Cluster in Madison, WI, Gemma had one point from her only other show in June of 2021.  It is quite unusual to get all necessary points in a show, and will likely never happen again, which is a testament to all those who were entered and continued to show their girls to retain the points.  Bravo, Airedales!

On Thursday, February 24, Judge Barbara Dempsey-Alderman awarded Gemma Winner's Bitch for a four-point major.  This means she was judged the best non-champion bitch of those showing.  We were also awarded Owner Handled Best of Breed.  Judge Alderman is also the judge who awarded Jayden his first major back in 2012, which really makes it doubly special.

On Friday, February 25, Judge Jason Hoke awarded Gemma Winner's Bitch again, this time for a five-point major, as well as OH BOB.

On Saturday, February 26, Judge Peggy Beisel-McIlwaine awarded Gemma Winner's Bitch as well as Best of Opposite Sex and OH BOB, to complete her necessary majors and points for her champion title.

On Sunday, February 27th, we then moved up to the Best of Breed class and Gemma was awarded a Select and OH BOB by Judge David J. Kirkland.  This is an award the judge gives when deemed appropriate quality from the group in that class.  This also should qualify her for her first Grand Champion points, as it was also a four-point major.

I sincerely extend my gratitude to all those who enter shows, it takes months to prepare both their coat and training.  So many people encouraged, supported and taught both of us.  The shows were taking place in a cold snap in Wisconsin, which gave challenges, our ring times were consistently 8 am (eek!) and it was Gemma's first stay in a hotel, which she seemed to thoroughly enjoy and the whole experience really matured her.  It was her birthday on 2/20/2022, and this whole weekend was quite a birthday present.

What does the future hold for her now?  Time will tell!
